This park came in for a lot of stick a few years ago as it under went a massive change, closing old rides and attractions for two brand new lands that took a while, but in 2018 Toy Story Land opened and 2019 Star Wars Land opened - exciting times.
You enter the park and make your way down Hollywood Boulevard which is lined with shops, in the distance you can see the Chinese Theater that was the home of The Great Movie Ride and is now the home to the first Mickey Mouse themed ride, called Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway it sounds quite exciting as you are set to step inside the movie screen and join Mickey and friends! We were expecting a kiddie ride, but actually thought it was really good.
At the end of the Boulevard is the Echo Lake area which is home to the following attractions:
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue
Celebrity Spotlight - Olaf meet & greet
Vacation Fun - A Mickey & Minnie animated short
These all are great attractions, although in my opinion once you have seen the Indiana Jones show once, you don't really need to see it again, whereas with the Frozen Sing Along, although the show is the same each time, I don't mind because I love singing along to all the Frozen songs! Star Tours is great because you can go on and the adventure can be different each time.
Once past Star Tours you enter Grand Avenue, home of Muppet Vision 3D which is fun for everyone.
At the end of Grand Avenue is the entrance to the new Star Wars Land - Galaxy's Edge. We were lucky enough to be able to visit just a few days after it was opened. The theming is fantastic and the queue for the new ride - Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was not too bad considering it is a brand new ride. We thought the ride was good, but it is not on the same level as Flight of Passage. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, this is the big Star Wars ride - the theming and immersion is fantastic, Star Wars fans will love it and so will many non-fans.
Next is Commissary Lane where you can meet Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams. This brings you back round to the Echo Lake area by the Chinese Theater.
Head through the Hollywood Studios arch to Animation Courtyard to the following attractions:
Disney Junior Play and Dance!
Walt Disney Presents - Gallery and Exhibits & The Walt Disney Theater
My youngest loved the Disney Junior show which was replaced in 2019 by the Disney Junior Dance Party (now Disney Junior Play and Dance!), which she enjoyed just as much.
Toy Story Land looks brilliant, you literally are shrunk down to the size of a toy! The rides are:
Slinky Dog Dash - A family rollercoaster
Alien Swirling Saucers
Toy Story Mania!
The land is fantastically themed and very busy - we loved the Slinky Dog Dash rollercoaster.
At the other side of the park is Sunset Boulevard with the iconic Hollywood Tower Hotel dominating the view at one end, the first half of which is various shops, but then you come across the following attractions:
Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy
The Rock 'n 'Roller Coaster is the only coaster in Walt Disney World that goes upside down and it does so by blasting you off from 0 - 60 mph in around 2.9 seconds! Smile for the Camera!
